How do i change an automatic shift knob on a 1994 pontiac grand am?

bought a momo italian shift knob.


and do not know how to take off my old shifter knob...


also my cars a automatic, so i dont know if that makes a diffrence in anything|||pull out the clip on the front side of the shifter and pull up on the knob





Oh yeah I forgot that you need a big hammer to smash it back on.|||floor shifter pull clip on front of handle column shifter grab with vise grip and hammer off|||There will either be a set screw with an Allan or Torx type tip in it or there will be a C-clip holding it onto the shifter. Either loosen the screw or pry the clip out. Usually the screw or clip will be facing the radio so you can%26#039;t see it unless you shift the trans. to D3 when the motor is off.
