How can I lower the actual shift knob in my car?

I have a 2004 Honda Civic EX, it is a manual transmission. I wanted to buy a neuspeed short shift kit for the car to reduce the shift throw, and all the reviews say it is great, however i also want the actual shift knob to sit slightly lower than stock and the short shift kit only changes the throw, not the height. is there a way to get a shorter shift lever or would a smaller shift knob lower it enough?|||Most aftermarket shifters have the actual lever as a separate piece. You could chop it, or look around and find a separate lever that%26#039;s the length you like.
