How do i get the sleeve of my handbrake?
I own a pug 306 and want to change the plastic sleeve on the handbrake handle in the car. Is there an easy way to get it off without cutting it??? also wld like to know how to remove the gear shift knob. Thanks...
How do i get the sleeve of my handbrake?
nope, both the shroud and gear knob are glued on ..they well need cut off....
How do i get the sleeve of my handbrake?
Take off the facia / shround around the base of the handbrake - will give you a better idea of how to get it off - normally secired with a screw / clip at the bottom. Gear knob normally twists off.
Gear knob might twist off...Handbrake handle is most likely attached with adhesive.
Paul both the handbrake and the gear knob are glued into place, so unfortunately you will need to cut them of.
Ja.

How much would it cost to change a automatic 69 mustang fastback into manual?
What would be the total price for everything? Please List all the parts that will be needed? putting in a clutch pedal. Putting in the shift knob. everything LIST EVERY THING ABOUT SWITCHING IT PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How much would it cost to change a automatic 69 mustang fastback into manual?
Everything that Ken K said is correct. also, to add a bit more, you may need a different yoke, depending on what auto box you have now. also, flywheel bolts need to be longer than auto ones. and you will need a manual spacer for the clapper starter motor. If you can't fit it yourself, you may be looking at close to another grand to pay someone to do all the fiddly stuff.
Nice car btw. i have a 69 Mach 1 myself.

I don't know if you are trying to build a hot rod...I suggest you start visiting salvage yards in your area, Est. less than 1000 bucks...Starting at the back of the engine you will need...
Pilot bearing
Flywheel
Clutch plate - Pressure plate - Throw out bearing %26amp; Fork
Clutch pedal with Push rod %26amp; Linkage
Bell housing
Transmission
Shifter and Linkage
Drive shaft may need to be a little longer to accomodate manual tranny
everything i agree with but..... buy a new clutch pressure plate and thrust bearings, as there is no guarantee that the one you pull out is going to be better. cos you may have to replace it later on.
contact Mustangs Plus for details.
You would need:
A clutch.
A clutch pedal + hardware.
Clutch pedal hangars - if not already present under dash (my '65 Coupe is an auto but the hangars are already there).
Shifter Boot+hardware/accessories, knob (depending on what comes with transmission).
A manual transmission (this will be most of your cost).
Depending on what transmission you get, you may want/need to change driveshaft, rear end gears (or entire rear end), and possibly modify/upgrade mounts and suspension.
A basic job with a used transmission in decent shape could probably be done for about $800-$1000 in parts by someone who was fairly mechanically inclined.
To have it it done (and done properly) could range from $2000 on up.

Question about your paddle shifting Smart Car?
When you press the paddle shifters on your Smart Car on its steering wheel, does it change it to Manual mode?
Even If I leave it in automatic mode. if I accidentaly bump those shifters it changes it to Manual mode immediatly.
to change it back to Automatic I have to pull the shift knob over to Manual Mode and then push it back to Automatic mode...
is this something with a particular year of the Smart Car?
is this normal for all smart cars?
should I call the mechanic?
Question about your paddle shifting Smart Car?
In original unupgraded 08' models one would have to move the shift knob over to manual and back to auto.
If you had your car flashed to 2.0 your transmission has had its shifting pattern upgraded to allow faster, more economical shifting. The 2.0 upgrade also allows you to go into manual mode just by slapping the shifter or paddles. If you bought a used smart or an 08' this year then the USB 2.0 tranny upgrade has already been done
09's had this function pre-installed and it is completely normal for the smart to do this. Also if you had not noticed, in manual mode you can get to 60 in less than 12.8 seconds.
check out my sources!
Question about your paddle shifting Smart Car?
This is a feature of the recent software update version 2.0
The original software acted differently, the paddles were inactive until the shifter was placed into manual mode. The version 2.0 is supposed to change the shift points to a more economical pattern and allow immediate mode change to manual by simply pressing a paddle.

How much does a typical clutch inspection cost?
I have a Ford Ranger 1996 and have yet to change the clutch. Now it's really tough to shift gears. Some fluid does drip from the gear shift knob on ocassion but not much.
How much does a typical clutch inspection cost?
Why gear oil would drip from the shifter knob I have no idea.
But most reputable garages will take a look your clutch and trans for free. They want to do the work.
How much does a typical clutch inspection cost?
There should be no charge for the inspection. Just get a estimate to repair the poor shifting.
